Existing fireplace faced living room on one side and office on another. The clients wanted to view the fire from the living room, but they wanted to have most of the heat in the office. They also wanted to keep the look of the existing fireplace at the living room. Our solution was to build the heater's firebox inside former fireplace with the glass door facing the living room, placing the main heat exchanging body in the office. Existing stonework was continued around the heater's door to keep the same look. The stove's body in the office was faced used reclaimed brick from 1890s. |
